The expiatory temple of the Holy Family in Barcelona, which Antoni Gaudi directed from 1883 until his death in 1926, reinventing Gothic structure with branching columns, ruled-surface geometry and hanging-chain models. Still under construction after more than a century, funded by visitors and consecrated as a basilica in 2010, it is the most visited unfinished building in the world.
