Le Corbusier's white box on slender columns at Poissy outside Paris, completed in 1931, the built manifesto of his five points of a new architecture: pilotis, the free plan, the free facade, ribbon windows and the roof garden. It is the canonical house of the modern movement and a World Heritage listed work.
